datfur asked: Why don't you draw One Piece anymore?
Because I don’t like it anymore. Oda got married and then OP wasn’tabout friendship, well-written continuity/story and adventure anymore, but juvenile jokes about sexy ladies. Also Sanji was suddenly written to act disrespectfully towards women who he thought weren’t sexy (see= Kokoro) despite the entire series before that point was all about how he loves everyone who is female and that was kind of too gross to handle to me. I guess the last drop for me was when Absalom was invisi-molesting Nami and Usopp drops in and instead of helping her out HE DROOLS OVER HIS BEST FRIEND BEING NAKED yeah I kinda can’t see why that’s funny I can ignore (and even enjoy) dumb fanservice but that sort of sucked out all my previous enthusiasm towards the series, no matter how good it still might be. And don’t get me wrong, everything else about OP IS good. It was pretty much a mindblowing comic to go through when I was 14 and had no idea things can actually be written well or that characters can be designed to such interesting varieties. And I give it props for being my longest fandom-love, for an entire 4 good years, and for being a main-reason of improving my own style forwards, and getting to know a lot of cool people. Good times. (Top-secret: I sometimes still doodle Robin because she’s so cool.)
